Mobile first begins with the author proving to his readers
through statistics that mobile devices are, by far, the most used for web
usage, bypassing the PC in 2010. In
the first chapter, growth, he discusses the evolution of the Smartphone from
2006 to now and how as the networks become faster the mobile traffic has
increased. The main idea of
chapter two is constraints, the author explained that things like a smaller
screen size forces the business to really figure out what is actually most
important to them and their customers.
Chapter 3 focuses on the capabilities technology has and how we should
use them. Since not all devices
have the same capabilities designers need to make sure that they are designing
for the problem not just to use the newest feature because that may alienate
part of their audience.

Week 1B
Today in class we took a field trip to McComsey to look at where the conference will be held. We actually got to go into the hall and saw the number of seats have decrease so we need to account for that. We took the ipads to take pictures, make lists and record ideas. Below are some pictures of the venue including, the registration areas and reception area.
Next we brainstormed overall and main ideas about registration, presentation and wayfinding to name a few. Below are photos of our whiteboard brainstorming.
The second half of class we took notes on job titles and what they really mean. The next section of notes we started to touch on discussed the idea of mobile next. The idea is that we need to design for mobile before desktop.
